Terms of Service

PatronVoice is operated by Pavel Sotnikov, an independent developer, as a solo project rather than through an incorporated company. In these Terms “we”, “us” and “the Service” mean PatronVoice at patronvoice.com.

You can reach us at support@patronvoice.com for anything related to these Terms, your account, or your data. We write from that address only — we never ask for your Patreon password or payment details by email or anywhere else.

Creators connect their Patreon campaign, import their tiers and patron list, assign a vote weight to each tier, and publish polls in which every option is an image. Patrons open the poll link, sign in with Patreon, and vote; their vote counts with the weight of the tier they are in at that moment.

Results are shown as weighted percentages, and the creator of a poll can see who voted for what. Paid plans can also export the raw results as a CSV file.

The Service reads your Patreon data through the official Patreon API. It does not post to Patreon, message your patrons, or change anything in your campaign.

A Patreon account is the only way to use PatronVoice. There is no separate password: you authorise us through Patreon’s OAuth screen, and we never see your Patreon credentials. Your use of Patreon itself remains governed by Patreon’s own terms.

You must be old enough to hold a Patreon account in your country. The Service is not intended for children.

You are responsible for what happens under your account, including votes cast and polls published from it. Write to support@patronvoice.com if you believe someone else has gained access to it.

You can revoke our access at any time in your Patreon account settings. Doing so stops synchronisation and, for creators, prevents new polls from being published.

When you connect a campaign, you import personal data about your patrons — their name, email address, tier and pledge amount — into the Service. For that data you are the controller and we act on your behalf; you confirm that you are entitled to process it in order to run polls, and that doing so is consistent with what you have told your patrons.

You are responsible for the polls you publish: the images you upload, the question you ask, and how you use the results. You must hold the rights to any image you upload, and you must not upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or that Patreon itself would not allow.

Polls are not anonymous. Individual votes, including the voter’s name and tier, are visible to you as the poll’s creator. Do not promise your patrons an anonymity the Service does not provide, and do not use vote data to disadvantage or expose a patron.

A poll result is advisory. Whether you follow it is your decision, and any promise you make to your patrons about honouring a poll is between you and them.

You may cast one vote per poll. If the creator allows it, you can change your vote while the poll is open; otherwise your first vote is final.

Your vote weight comes from the tier you belong to when you vote, using the weights the creator has configured. The weight is recorded with the vote and does not change afterwards, even if you later change or cancel your pledge.

Who may see and vote in a poll is set by the creator and may be limited to a minimum tier or pledge amount. Losing access to a campaign means losing access to its polls; votes already cast remain counted unless the creator deletes the poll.

Do not manipulate results — no duplicate or coordinated accounts, no automated voting, no attempts to alter another person’s vote or weight.

Do not probe, scan, overload or otherwise interfere with the Service or the infrastructure it runs on, and do not try to reach data belonging to another creator or patron.

Do not scrape or bulk-collect data beyond what ordinary use of the Service produces, and do not use it to build a mailing list or a profile of another creator’s patrons.

We may suspend an account or remove content that breaks these rules, and we will say why when we do.

PatronVoice is paid for through Patreon: you become a patron of the PatronVoice campaign, and your pledge determines your plan — Starter at $5/month allows 5 published polls per calendar month, Pro at $10/month allows 10 and adds layout choice, Studio at $25/month removes the publishing limit. All paid plans include CSV export. There is no free plan: without an active paid membership you can still sign in and open existing polls, but you cannot publish new ones.

New creators normally start with Patreon’s 7-day free trial of a tier. During the trial you have that tier’s plan in full. If the trial is not converted into a paid membership, the plan ends with it.

All payments, invoices, currency conversion, taxes, renewals, cancellations and refunds are handled by Patreon under Patreon’s terms. We never see or store your card details and cannot charge or refund you ourselves. To change or cancel your plan, change or cancel your membership on Patreon.

Plan changes take effect as your membership status reaches us from Patreon, which can take a short time after you make the change there. If your plan ends or is downgraded, polls you already published stay live and keep collecting votes; only your ability to publish new ones and to use plan-specific features changes. The publishing quota is counted per calendar month and does not carry over.

You keep ownership of everything you upload — poll titles, descriptions and images. You grant us only the permission needed to run the Service: to store your content, process it, and display it to the people you have made the poll visible to.

Poll images are served from public file storage. Anyone holding the direct file URL can open the image without signing in, so treat uploads as material that could become public and do not upload anything that must stay confidential. Poll pages themselves remain access-controlled.

We may remove content that breaks these Terms or that we are legally required to remove.

PatronVoice is in beta. Features may change, break, or be removed, and we do not promise any particular level of uptime, performance or data durability. Keep your own copy of results that matter to you — CSV export exists for exactly that.

The Service depends on the Patreon API. If Patreon changes or restricts its API, if your tokens expire or are revoked, or if Patreon is unavailable, parts of PatronVoice will stop working until that is resolved. This is outside our control.

We may change, suspend or discontinue features at any time. If we discontinue the Service as a whole, we will give reasonable advance notice so that you can export your data.

You may stop using the Service at any time by revoking access on Patreon, and you may ask us to delete your account and its data by writing to support@patronvoice.com. There is not yet a self-service delete button in the interface.

We may suspend or terminate access if you break these Terms, if your use puts the Service or other users at risk, or if we are required to do so by law.

When an account is deleted, its polls, options, votes and imported patron records are deleted with it. Aggregated or anonymised statistics that no longer identify anyone may be kept.

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of results, or uninterrupted operation.

We do not warrant that vote weights, quotas or synchronised patron data will always be free of error, and we are not responsible for decisions you take on the basis of poll results.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, nor for lost profits, lost patrons, lost revenue or lost data arising out of your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid towards PatronVoice plans in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or US $50 if you paid nothing.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud, or the mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.

If a third party brings a claim against us because of content you published, data you imported, or your breach of these Terms, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and damages that result, to the extent the claim is caused by your actions.

We may update these Terms as the Service develops. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and material changes will be announced in the Service before they take effect.

Continuing to use PatronVoice after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the Service and, if you wish, ask us to delete your account.

PatronVoice is run by one person and is available internationally, so these Terms do not force a foreign forum on you. If something goes wrong, write to support@patronvoice.com first — we will try in good faith to resolve it within 30 days.

If a dispute cannot be resolved that way, it is governed by the law of the operator’s place of residence, except that you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer-law rules of the country where you live and may bring a claim before the courts competent for you there.

If any provision of these Terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
